As concern about global warming intensifies, carbon dioxide emissions are an increasingly important issue for governments and industry. Pöyry Energy has an expert understanding of power sector CO2 emissions and the linkage between the value of carbon and the price of electricity. More broadly, we are closely involved with the EU Emissions Trading Scheme (ETS); and we develop carbon price projections from our detailed understanding of the economics of fuel switching and other abatement measures in electricity and industrial sectors.
Our clients in this area include government, electricity generators and suppliers, large industrial companies and NGOs. We continue to advise players and policy makers on the design and implications of legislation; the impact of emissions trading; and scenarios for future carbon and electricity prices.
