Structure of the Pöyry Energy consulting staff

Pöyry Energy (Oxford) currently has five grades of consulting staff:

  • Director
  • Principal Consultant
  • Senior Consultant
  • Consultant
  • Technical Analyst

The qualifications and experience required

Principal Consultants: at least ten years' in-depth experience in consulting, the energy industries, government or a related organisation. Extensive knowledge and expertise in one or more of our four key areas - electricity, gas, carbon/emissions trading and public energy policy development.

Senior Consultants: at least five years' in-depth experience in consulting, the energy industries, government or a related organisation. Knowledge and experience in one or more of the four key areas - electricity, gas, carbon/emissions trading or public energy policy development.

Particularly valuable, in addition, will be:

  • fluency in Italian, German, Spanish, or French;
  • a master's degree or doctorate in a relevant subject;
  • a high level of expertise in using modelling tools to address complex analytical problems; and
  • experience in other liberalised or liberalising markets.

Consultants: a good degree, probably (though not necessarily) in a numerate subject, such as a economics, maths, science or engineering. A couple of years work experience in a financial institution, energy company or general management consultancy would be advantageous.

Particularly valuable, in addition, will be:

  • fluency in Italian, German, Spanish, or French;
  • advanced computer modelling skills;
  • polished report writing and communication skills

Technical analysts: a good degree, probably (though not necessarily) in a numerate subject, such as a economics, maths, science or engineering.
